“Before You Go”

12 Feb

I saw this today, and thought it well worth sharing here. Too many of our boys have come home, and never gotten a “Thank you” for their service. I think it behooves us all to go out of our way to say thank you, to every veteran we know or meet.

Good one, freedom is certainly not free. I know it’s not much but each holiday season I always send two or three packages through AnySoldier http://www.anysoldier.com/ to those serving overseas. It’s really nothing to send a tiny package, compared to being in a far off land away from family during the holidays.

It’s a fuckin shame that the government keeps sending them into lands, but as long as Washington keeps sending them we need to support the folks.

    Good post.

Thanks for the comment, Mark. Yeah, I’m afraid that too many people these days are taking our freedoms for granted, and forgetting how we came by them. I certainly prefer that our boys & girls are fighting for something more worthwhile than oil rights, but they don’t choose the battlefield, they just choose to lay down their lives, so we don’t have to. I don’t think you have to agree with the war, to respect the warrior.

Yes, we should take good care of them especially when they return home. I think sometimes they are left out in the cold after returning, I wish they could get the best continuing medical care, college funding and anything else they might need. They certainly deserve it.

    Cheers.
