A Check-Up For Your System

12 Feb

In case you missed it, in my last post, a link was given toPanopticlick, a site that will tell you just exactly how much information your system is delivering to visited sites. I recommend you check it out, and if your useragent is giving up more than the average 10.5 bits, then follow the instructions given in the linked articles from the previous three posts, to remedy that. You might also find it interesting to read ISEC’s paper, https://www.isecpartners.com/files/iSEC_Cleaning_Up_After_Cookies.pdf.

Remember, there are thousands (MANY!) of people out there, trying to harvest information on anyone and everyone they can, every minute. It’s up to each of us to make that as difficult as we possibly can.

Well, yeah, I suppose I could, Deb. But then, if you don’t read about it, you wouldn’t know what you were gonna do, or why. I don’t wanna give you a fish, I wanna teach you how to catch fish!
